HOW THERAPY WORKS 2023-09-18T10:48:39-04:00

Getting your child started in therapy can be fast and slow at the same time!

Here is how the therapy process works:

  1. Fill out the case history and submit it along with the referral (if applicable)
  2. You bring the child in for the evaluation. The evaluating therapist will administer an assessment (she may ask both you and your child some questions). The evaluation is scored and the therapist will quickly review the results and get your input regarding goals and outcomes
  3. Your child’s information is loaded into our system and you are contacted for an evaluation appointment
  4. The evaluation report is completed and written up and sent to your pediatrician for a signature and to your insurance company for authorization (this can take between 3-10 days depending on the insurance company)
  5. You will be contacted to schedule a Zoom appt/Patient orientation where we will review the results of the evaluation, and your child’s goals and also we will review our attendance policy. (Therapy cannot start until this Zoom appointment is completed)
  6. We will schedule the appointment in our office or if your child will be seen at school we will assign your child to the therapist. The therapist will contact you to let you know the day(s) your child will be seen.
  7. In six months we take a look at your child’s progress and attendance. We may re-evaluate your child or we may update the goals on the current plan. Unfortunately, if attendance has fallen below 75% we do reserve the right to discharge.
